An Ode to Barcelona's 'La Whiskería'

Ah Barcelona! Home of marvellous tapas bars, stunning gothic streets, and religious buildings that could make even the most atheistic of sceptics consider a higher power. I was so busy trying to take it all in that I walked upwards of thirty kilometres a day. But sadly, I am not yet omnipresent, and my time in the city was limited. I had to cut some things out to make room for others, and one of those things was La Whiskería.

As you do when researching a travel destination, I checked out the local whisky scene soon after I started planning my trip. And La Whiskería was the name that flashed up time and time again. A glance at their website proclaims their greatest accomplishments – Spain’s biggest whisky bar, and the only one in Barcelona! With over 1000 whiskies to choose from, it seemed like a dram come true. Sipping on a scotch in the Catalonian sunshine while a team of passionate bartenders pluck bottles from dark oak shelving. I could not believe my luck!
